Late Nights In Squat Bars, Berlin’s long-standing electro pop duo, released their long awaited second album CLAMP DOWN on November 19th 2015, with an album release party at Koffer Bar, Neukölln in Berlin.
The 10 songs span five years, including tracks first performed at the festivals Restriction / Restraint / Rebirth (2013) and Authorized Access (2014). There are now also videos for the songs Whose Gym Towel (Director: Karina Griffith) and Dot Dot Dot (Director: Devon Barber).
As always, Shanti Suki and Dafne Della Dafne use vocals, beats, synths and unusual instruments to create dance pop hits with a feminist, anti-colonial and anti-racist narrative. From the album’s eerie title track Clamp Down featuring French musician Nico Petitdan on saz, to the experimental cabaret of Higher Hired, and the upbeat yet openly critical pop of Paradise, Late Nights In Squat Bars create songs which are catchy yet potent commentators on themes currently dominating alternative thinking.

You can listen to and purchase the album at Bandcamp. All proceeds go towards funding LNISB’s third album project. This is in planning to start writing at the end of 2016 and release in 2017 – let’s make it happen!

Am 19. November 2015 wurde das lang erwartete zweite Album von Late Nights In Squat Bars in Koffer Bar, Neukölln veröffentlicht.
Die Songs umfassen fünf Jahren und darunter sind Tracks von den Festivals Restriction / Restraint / Rebirth (2013) und Authorized Access (2014). Es gibt auch mittlerweile Videos für die Lieder Whose Gym Towel (Regie: Karina Griffith, Kanada) und Dot Dot Dot (Regie: Devon Barber, UK).
Wie immer, benutzten Shanti Suki und Dafne Della Dafne, Gesang, Beats und eigenartige Instrumente um ihre feministische, kolonialkritische und anti-rassistische Dance-Pop Hits ins Leben zu rufen.
Von dem gespenstigen Titeltrack Clamp Down mit Saz von Nico Petidan, bis zum experimentellen Cabaret – Lied Higher Hired, und peppig aber offen kritischen Paradise, sind die Lieder von Late Nights In Squat Bars eingängig dennoch potente Kommentare zu Themen des alternativen Denkens.
